Loft Conversions
AWC Loft Conversions is a local, owner-led loft conversion company serving Reading and Berkshire, with selected projects across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Led by Adrian “Ady” Walker, a qualified carpenter with over 30 years’ experience in the building trade, we provide Velux, dormer, hip-to-gable and bungalow loft conversions. Our complete design-to-completion service covers the initial survey and feasibility, architectural drawings and planning support, structural calculations and steel installation, building control coordination, loft staircases, insulation, plumbing and electrics, en-suite installation, plastering and final finishes.
Our Process
How It Works
Free Site Survey & Design
Ady personally visits to assess the property, check the available loft space and discuss what you want to achieve. Following the site survey, we can advise on feasibility and prepare the information needed for a detailed quotation. We can work from existing architectural plans or arrange architectural drawings as part of the project.
Planning, Structural Work & Compliance
AWC handles planning submissions, party wall notices and building regulations applications, then installs steel beams, new joists or trusses as required while coordinating gas, plumbing and electrical trades.
Fit-Out, Finishing & Handover
We coordinate the loft staircase, windows, insulation, plumbing and electrics, en-suite installation where required, plastering and final finishes before completing the necessary inspections and handover. Our loft conversions include a five-year workmanship guarantee for additional peace of mind.
